Detailed Description of the Tecno Camon 50 Pro

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch Curved 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED

The screen is a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED at 1208 x 2644, which Tecno calls 1.5K, running at up to 144Hz. Colours and blacks beat every Spark LCD we stock. TikTok, camera preview, and WhatsApp look sharp. Tecno says the chip's native output is 1080p and a scaler lifts it to 1.5K, so some third-party apps may still report Full HD.

The curve looks premium and helps the phone sit in the hand, but it also means a flat glass protector will halo at the edges; the box includes a curved protector for that reason. Independent nit measurements for this exact Kenya panel are scarce, so treat outdoor brightness as typical modern AMOLED rather than a quoted lab number. This is a camera-phone screen, not a GT gaming panel.

Processor & Storage: Helio G200 Ultimate, 8GB + 256GB

The Kenyan Camon 50 Pro uses the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate on 6nm, with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics unit at 1.1GHz. Everyday apps and the camera pipeline are the point. Games run on mid settings. It is 4G only; the Camon 50 Pro 5G sold in other countries uses a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate and is a different phone.

We stock 8GB of physical RAM with 256GB of storage. Tecno lists this as 16GB with 8GB extended; the real RAM is 8GB, which is enough to keep the camera, WhatsApp, and a browser open. The Kenya spec sheet does not list a memory-card slot, so 256GB is what you live with. Tecno also promises three major Android updates and talks about a five-year fluency certificate on this series.

Camera System: Sony 50MP OIS, 50MP 3x Telephoto and 8MP Ultra-wide

This is why people pay Camon money. The main camera is a Sony LYTIA 700C 50MP sensor, 1/1.56-inch, f/1.8, 23mm, with optical image stabilisation. OIS moves the lens so night shots and walking video stay cleaner than a Spark. Next to it is a real 50MP 3x telephoto at 70mm with its own autofocus and OIS, plus an 8MP ultra-wide at 112 degrees. Those are three working cameras, not dummy rings.

The front camera is 32MP, which is the Kenya spec; the 5G Camon 50 Pro in other countries uses a 50MP selfie, so do not mix the two. Rear video on the 4G model is listed at 1080p. Daylight portraits and the 3x zoom are the strength. Night is good for the class, not flagship. A month-long English review noted the extra small lens on the island is a depth helper beside the three real sensors.

Battery & Charging: 6,150mAh with 45W Super Charge

The Kenyan Camon 50 Pro has a 6,150mAh battery and 45W Super Charge. Tecno's Kenya product page sometimes shows 6,500mAh marketing copy, but the Kenya spec sheet and the Kenya site config both say 6,150mAh. Some other countries get 6,500mAh and the 5G model uses 6,500mAh, which is why foreign reviews quote the bigger number.

The 45W charger, a USB-C cable, a case, and a curved screen protector come in the box. Tecno talks about 1,800 charge cycles and more than 80% health after five years. Independent minute-by-minute charge tests for this exact 6,150mAh Kenya unit are still thin, so treat 45W as the official rate. A reviewer of the 4G model said a normal day of camera use and streaming finished with charge left.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone. The Kenya spec sheet does not list eSIM. You get NFC, an infrared remote, FM radio, USB-C with OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The fingerprint reader sits under the screen.

Dual speakers with Dolby Atmos are tuned for video and music. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack; use USB-C or Bluetooth earphones. It runs HiOS 16 on Android 16. Tecno promises three major Android updates and lists IP68, IP69, and IP69K for dust, immersion, and high-pressure water under lab tests. Warranty still does not treat every puddle as covered, so do not swim with it.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is 4G, not the Camon 50 Pro 5G. There is no headphone jack and no memory-card slot. The Helio G200 is a camera chip, not a gaming Dimensity. Night photos are strong for the class, not a flagship Ultra.

The Tecno Camon 50 Pro price in Kenya puts it at the top of the Tecno phones we stock. If you only need WhatsApp and a big battery, the Spark 50 is the simpler Tecno. If you want 5G, a Snapdragon chip, and 90W charging, look at the Infinix Note 60 Pro.

We sell genuine units from The Bazaar Plaza, Moi Avenue, 10th floor, Wing A, Suite 1038, Nairobi. WhatsApp +254 739 238 917. We can hand it over in Nairobi today, or pack it for the courier.
