The vivo V70 is the compact camera vivo we stock: a flat 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, a real 50MP ZEISS telephoto with optical zoom, and a 6,500mAh cell that fills on 90W. It suits portraits, Safaricom 5G, and anyone who wants a smaller V-series than the curved V50.
Pay cash or Lipa Pole Pole at Zentech Electronics Kenya. Come to The Bazaar Plaza, or let us deliver.
The Kenyan V70 uses a flat 6.59-inch AMOLED at 2750 × 1260, about 459 pixels per inch. That is 1.5K, sharper than the Full HD panel on last year's V50, and the extra pixels help WhatsApp, maps, and 4K video on a screen you can hold in one hand. The refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, with 60 and 90Hz options, so scrolling stays light without forcing every app to the top rate.
vivo rates local peak brightness at 5,000 nits. GSMArena measured about 550 nits with the slider maxed, then about 1,966 nits in a 75% window and 2,605 nits in a 10% window on auto, which is why Nairobi sun is not a problem if you leave auto brightness on. HDR10+ and a P3 colour gamut sit on the Kenya spec. A film is already on the glass; the aluminium frame wants a slim case so the edges stay clean.
Processor & Storage: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 8GB + 256GB
The chip is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 on 4nm: one 2.8GHz core, four 2.4GHz cores, and three 1.8GHz cores. It is the same mid-range family used on recent V-series phones, so camera processing, OriginOS, and everyday games stay comfortable. It is not a flagship gaming chip; Genshin on top settings will warm the back, and vivo puts a vapour chamber in to keep that in check.
We stock the Kenya 8GB + 256GB cut, with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. That combination opens apps faster than the eMMC Y-series phones. There is no microSD slot. Software can add another 8GB of extended RAM. A 12GB + 512GB version exists on the Kenya spec sheet; it is not the unit on this page.
Camera System: 50MP ZEISS Main, Telephoto & 50MP Selfie
This is not the V50's three-50MP layout and it is not a V70 FE. The Kenya V70 has a 50MP ZEISS main camera with OIS at f/1.88, a 50MP ZEISS super-telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom at f/2.65, and an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide at f/2.2. The telephoto is a real sensor, which is why distant portraits look cleaner than a crop from the main camera. The ultra-wide is the weaker of the three; treat it as a room and group lens, not the star.
The front camera is a 50MP ZEISS autofocus selfie with a 92° view. 4K video is listed on the sheet. Stage mode, night, portrait, documents, and underwater photography sit in the camera app. There is a single rear flash. Aura-style fill is not the story here; the telephoto and the selfie are.
Battery & Charging: 6,500mAh with 90W in the Box
The Kenyan V70 has a 6,500mAh typical BlueVolt cell (6,320mAh rated), silicon-carbon chemistry in a slim 7.4mm black body. GSMArena's active-use score on this capacity was 16 hours 52 minutes, which is a long day of WhatsApp, maps, and video even with 5G on. vivo's 90W FlashCharge uses the charger and cable in the box; a random shop brick will not hit that speed.
GSMArena timed a full charge on this 6,500mAh 90W model at 52 minutes. PhoneArena's unit reached about 62% in 30 minutes and a full tank in about 50 minutes. Reverse wired charging can top up earbuds. There is no wireless pad. Bypass charging and a charge limit sit in the battery menu if you game on the plug or leave it on a desk all day.
Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software
The Kenya spec lists 5G bands including n78, so Safaricom 5G works where the network is live, and it falls back to 4G on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. Dual 5G standby is on the sheet. The tray holds two nano SIMs and the Kenya page also lists eSIM; some foreign review units shipped without eSIM, so check the SIM menu on the piece you pick up. NFC and an infrared blaster are supported. Wi-Fi is 2.4/5GHz and Bluetooth is 5.4.
Stereo speakers sit on both ends. There is no 3.5mm analog jack; digital USB-C or Bluetooth earphones are the path. The fingerprint reader is a 3D ultrasonic unit under the screen, so a cheap thick glass film can confuse it. It ships with Android 16 and OriginOS 6. The official Kenya page talks about six years of security updates. There is no FM radio.
Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives
Know what it is not. It is not the V70 FE and it is not the V50. IP68 and IP69 cover a 1.5-metre fresh-water dip and hot jets in the lab, but vivo says it is not a dive phone, and liquid damage is outside the warranty. There is no memory card, no analog headphone jack, and the ultra-wide is 8MP, not a third 50MP sensor. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is mid-range, not a gaming flagship.
The vivo V70 price in Kenya is for the 8GB+256GB unit we stock in Authentic Black and Alpine Gray. Stay with the Y29 if you only need a huge 4G battery and an LCD. If you want the older curved 12GB+512GB V-series with three 50MP cameras, look at the vivo V50.
We sell genuine units from The Bazaar Plaza, Moi Avenue, 10th floor, Wing A, Suite 1038, Nairobi. WhatsApp +254 739 238 917. We can hand it over in Nairobi today, or pack it for the courier.

Want a cheaper 4G vivo, or the 12GB V50 we still keep?
• 90W charger in the box: GSMArena timed this 6,500mAh cell to full in about 52 minutes • Real 50MP ZEISS telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom, plus a 50MP autofocus selfie • 6.59-inch 120Hz 1.5K AMOLED that stays readable in sun, with a 5,000-nit peak rating • IP68 and IP69 plus NFC, an IR blaster, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader • UFS 4.1 storage and dual-SIM 5G with eSIM listed on the Kenya spec
• No headphone jack and no microSD slot • 8MP ultra-wide is the weak camera; night shots there go soft • Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is mid-range: heavy games on top settings will heat up • 8GB+256GB only on this page; the 12GB+512GB cut is a different unit • Some review units lacked eSIM, so confirm the tray on the phone you take
Questions about the vivo V70
Is the vivo V70 waterproof?
It is rated IP68 and IP69: vivo tested 1.5 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes and hot high-pressure jets. It is not a dive phone, and liquid damage is not covered by the warranty.
Does the vivo V70 come with a charger?
Yes. The Kenya box has the 90W charger, a USB-C cable, a case, a SIM tool, and a film already on the screen.
What is the battery size of the vivo V70 in Kenya?
The Kenyan V70 has a 6,500mAh typical battery (6,320mAh rated). That is the official Kenya figure, not the 6,000mAh cell on the V50.
How long does the vivo V70 take to charge?
With the 90W charger in the box, GSMArena measured a full charge in about 52 minutes on this 6,500mAh model.
Does the vivo V70 work on Safaricom 5G?
Yes. The Kenya spec lists 5G bands including n78, so it uses Safaricom 5G where it is live and 4G on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom elsewhere. It takes two nano SIMs. Kenya also lists eSIM; check the unit in the shop.
Does the vivo V70 have a memory card slot or headphone jack?
No to both. You get 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage and two nano SIM slots. Use USB-C digital earphones or Bluetooth.
Is the vivo V70 the same as the V70 FE or the V50?
No. The V70 we stock is 8GB+256GB with a 50MP ZEISS telephoto and a 6,500mAh cell. The V50 is the older 12GB+512GB curved phone with three 50MP cameras. The V70 FE is a different model.
Are the vivo V70 cameras real ZEISS sensors?
Yes. The 50MP main and 50MP telephoto both have OIS. The ultra-wide is a real 8MP lens, not a dummy. The front is a 50MP autofocus selfie. All four carry ZEISS optics.
Is the vivo V70 good for gaming?
Yes for most players. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and the vapour chamber handle everyday titles and mid settings. Very heavy games on top settings will warm the phone.
How many updates will the V70 get?
It ships with Android 16 and OriginOS 6. The official Kenya page talks about six years of security updates. Ask in the shop what build is on the unit you take.
Can I pay for the vivo V70 in instalments?
Yes. Pick one of the two plans in the tables above: a low deposit and daily payments for 12 months, or 50% to 90% upfront and monthly payments for 1 to 6 months.
What do I need to buy the V70 on a payment plan?
Bring your original Kenyan ID and the deposit. The low-deposit daily plan also needs an active Safaricom line. We do the sign-up with you in the shop or over WhatsApp.
What happens if I miss a payment on the V70?
The phone is locked until you catch up. As soon as you pay what is due, it unlocks and you carry on with your plan.
Can I clear the V70 balance early?
Yes. You can pay off the balance any time, and paying early lowers the total you pay.
Can I get the V70 the same day?
Yes. Once the deposit is paid and the sign-up is done, you can collect it the same day at The Bazaar Plaza in Nairobi CBD, or we deliver it to you anywhere in Kenya.
