Ecomax Double Door Fridge 118L Price in Kenya: Compact Energy-Saving Refrigerator

The Ecomax 118L double door refrigerator provides independent freezing and fresh food storage in a space-saving compact upright form factor. Engineered for studio apartments, bedsitter residences, corporate executive offices, and modern student hostels across Kenya, this two-door refrigerator combines low power consumption with quiet compressor operation and dependable static cooling performance.

Independent Double Door Architecture

Unlike single-door bar fridges that share cooling zones, the Ecomax 118L separates freezing from regular refrigeration with two distinct insulated access doors:

• Dedicated Top Freezer Compartment: Houses an isolated sub-zero freezing cabinet ideal for ice cubes, poultry, meat preservation, and frozen foods.
• Spacious Lower Refrigerator Section: Maintains consistent chill temperatures for fresh milk, fruits, greens, leftovers, and beverages.
• Thermal Barrier Integrity: Individual doors ensure opening the fresh food section preserves freezing temperatures in the top cabinet, lowering overall electricity usage.
• Magnetic Perimeter Gaskets: Flexible perimeter seals prevent cold air leakage, keeping internal moisture levels balanced.

Quiet & Energy-Saving Compressor

The internal cooling circuit uses an energy-saving compressor engineered for everyday home efficiency. Operating smoothly in bedsitters and studio rooms without disruptive humming, it keeps living spaces comfortable. The electrical system is optimized for standard Kenyan 220V–240V AC 50Hz mains power, keeping monthly electricity bills predictable.

Interior Organization & Ergonomics

The interior refrigerator cabinet features removable shelves that adjust to accommodate tall juice pitchers, cooking pots, or stacked food containers. A dedicated transparent crisper bin at the base protects leafy vegetables and fruits from cold drafts, preserving crispness and nutritional value. The lower door includes molded balconies deep enough to store beverage bottles, mineral water, condiments, and dairy cartons securely.

Questions About the Ecomax 118L Refrigerator

Does the freezer compartment freeze solid ice cubes?

Yes. Because the top freezer is an isolated independent compartment with its own dedicated door, it maintains sub-zero freezing temperatures capable of freezing ice trays, ice cream, and meat cuts solid.

Is this refrigerator suitable for a bedsitter or small studio apartment?

Yes. The compact upright footprint fits neatly into small kitchenettes and studio corners, while the low-noise compressor ensures quiet operation that will not disrupt sleep in single-room living arrangements.

How often does the freezer require manual defrosting?

In standard household usage, manual defrosting is typically needed once every few months when frost buildup reaches about half a centimeter, easily accomplished by turning the thermostat to defrost.

How are the internal shelves and storage spaces organized?

The lower refrigerator section features removable spill-safe shelves, a clear bottom vegetable crisper bin, and built-in door racks designed to hold beverage bottles, milk cartons, and condiments.

What is the advantage of a double door design over a single door bar fridge?

A double door refrigerator features a completely isolated freezer compartment. Opening the main refrigerator door does not expose the freezer to warm room air, keeping frozen goods colder and reducing overall electricity consumption.

How does the mechanical temperature control dial work?

The internal thermostat dial allows you to select higher cooling intensity during hot weather or when loading fresh groceries, and lower settings during cooler months or when storing fewer items.

How should the refrigerator be transported and positioned upon arrival?

Always transport the refrigerator in an upright position. After positioning it in your room, allow it to stand upright and unplugged for at least 2 to 4 hours before turning it on to let compressor cooling oils settle.
