Detailed Description of the Infinix Hot 60i

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.7-inch 120Hz HD+ IPS LCD

The screen is a 6.7-inch IPS LCD at 720 × 1600, about 262 pixels per inch. That is HD+, so small text is softer than on a Full HD phone, but TikTok, WhatsApp, and YouTube scroll more smoothly than on a 60Hz first phone. The refresh rate steps through 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, and touch sampling goes up to 240Hz.

Infinix rates the panel at 560 nits typical and 700 nits in high-brightness mode, which keeps maps readable at a midday stage. It is LCD, not AMOLED, so blacks look grey in a dark room. You still get Always-On Display. The phone is 7.7mm thick and about 188 grams, so it sits lighter in a pocket than many older Hots.

Processor & Storage: Helio G81 Ultimate, 6GB/8GB RAM, eMMC 5.1

Inside is the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate on a 12nm process, with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz, and an ARM Mali-G52 graphics unit. Dual-SIM 4G, Chrome, Zoom, and light games are fine. Heavy 3D titles need lower settings, and eMMC 5.1 storage is slower than the UFS chips in the Hot 60 Pro.

We stock 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The official Kenya page highlights the 8GB+256GB configuration; the 6GB+128GB phone we sell is enough for calls and a few apps, while 8GB+256GB is the one to take if you keep WhatsApp videos and music. The tray holds two nano SIMs and a microSD card up to 1TB at the same time.

Camera System: 50MP Main, Helper Lens & 8MP Selfie

The rear camera is one real 50MP sensor with autofocus and a dual-LED flash. Daylight shop photos and family pictures look clean enough for WhatsApp. The extra opening on the back is a helper lens; it does not take pictures on its own. There is no optical stabilisation and no ultra-wide sensor.

Night shots go soft if your hand moves. Video reaches 2K at 30fps or 1080p at 30fps on the rear. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with its own flash, which is fine for WhatsApp video in good light. Portrait, Super Night, documents, and dual video modes are built in.

Battery & Charging: 5,160mAh with 45W in the Box

The Kenyan Hot 60i has a 5,160mAh battery. That is smaller than the Hot 70's 6,000mAh cell, but it still covers a stall day of calls and social apps. A published PCMark work test on this model ran about 13 hours 45 minutes, which is a lab figure, not a Nairobi street day, yet it matches the all-day feel we see in the shop.

The 45W charger comes in the box. Infinix quotes about 50 percent in 24 minutes. You also get 10W reverse wired charging and bypass charging. Compared with the Smart 10's 15W brick, this is the jump people notice first.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and a memory card, and it works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone and the Kenya spec does not list eSIM. Wi-Fi is dual-band and Bluetooth is 5.3. The official Kenya page lists NFC as no, so do not buy this if you need tap-to-pay. You do get an infrared blaster and FM radio.

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, and audio is tuned with DTS. The fingerprint reader sits on the side. It runs XOS 15 on Android 15. Infinix has not published a long update promise for the 60i the way it has for some Pro models, so treat software support as shorter than a Note.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is rated IP64, so rain and dust are fine, but it should not go under water. The screen is HD+ LCD, storage is eMMC, NFC is off on the Kenyan spec, and night photos have no optical stabilisation. It is 4G only.

The Infinix Hot 60i price in Kenya puts it under the Hot 70 and the 60 Pro. If you want to spend less on calls and WhatsApp, look at the Smart 10. If you want a 1.5K AMOLED and a faster Helio G200, step up to the Hot 60 Pro.
