The ZTE A36 is the entry 4.5G Blade we stock when someone wants a tall 6.75-inch 90Hz screen, a 5,000mAh cell, and a face unlock without paying for the 13MP A56. It suits a first Android 15 phone, a spare line, or a parent who mainly calls and WhatsApps.

In the shop we take cash or Lipa Pole Pole. Collect it on Moi Avenue, or we send it to you.

Detailed Description of the ZTE A36

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.75-inch 90Hz HD+ LCD

ZTE's official Blade A36 page and the official nubia A36 page both list a 6.75-inch panel that refreshes at 90Hz. GSMArena fills in 720 × 1600 on an IPS sheet, about 260 pixels per inch, so WhatsApp and YouTube look clean at arm's length while small captions stay softer than on a Full HD phone. The extra height helps a split chat, and 90Hz feels lighter than a 60Hz starter screen.

Neither official page prints a nit figure for this model, so we leave a brightness number off this page. Midday sun still wants auto brightness and a bit of shade. The glass is a flat LCD, so a cheap film sits well. Official marketing photos show a teardrop notch and the same wallpaper family as other current Blade phones.

Processor & Storage: Unisoc T7200, 2GB or 4GB + 64GB

The official Blade page names a dual Cortex-A75 setup and a 4.5G radio. ZTE's official LTE spec for the Z2472 names the Unisoc T7200: two A75 cores and six A55 cores at 1.6GHz on 12nm. That matches the octa-core 1.6GHz line on the nubia page. Calls, WhatsApp, M-Pesa, and YouTube are the job. Heavy 3D games stay on low settings and will warm the back.

We stock 2GB + 64GB and 4GB + 64GB. The official LTE spec lists 4GB + 64GB. Official marketing talks about 12GB of dynamic RAM as 4GB physical plus 8GB virtual on that 4GB cut. Dynamic RAM parks a few apps; it does not turn 2GB or 4GB into a gaming phone. Take the 4GB unit if you hop between Chrome and WhatsApp. 64GB fills once photos land, so the microSDXC slot on that official spec, up to 1TB, matters. Confirm the tray on the piece in the shop.

Camera System: 8MP AI Rear and 5MP Selfie

ZTE's official Blade A36 page writes an 8MP dual camera. The official LTE spec agrees: an 8MP AI rear camera with flash and a 5MP front camera. The island has more than one hole, but those extra openings are helpers, not a second full ultra-wide. Daylight WhatsApp photos come from that one 8MP sensor. Night shots need a steady hand.

Some foreign sheets write 13MP on an A36. That does not match ZTE's own 8MP line, so we stay with 8MP. Video resolution is not printed on the official pages, so we do not guess a 1080p figure. This is a daily status camera, not a mid-range setup.

Battery & Charging: 5,000mAh typical

Official Blade and nubia pages both list a 5,000mAh typical cell, and the official LTE spec repeats that number. That is a normal day of calls and WhatsApp, not a two-day cell once two SIMs and 4G are on. The official Blade page also shows an EU Class A energy label for this 4G model.

Those official pages do not print a charging watt. GSMArena lists 10W wired on the same Z2472 4G unit. Ask in the shop whether a brick is in the Kenya box; we have not seen an official in-box list. There is no wireless charging. Empty-to-full minutes stay off this page because ZTE has not published them.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

This is the 4.5G / 4G Blade A36, not a 5G phone. ZTE's official page writes 4.5G, which is faster 4G, and the official LTE spec is titled as an LTE handset. Safaricom 5G will not attach. Dual nano SIMs sit on that spec. There is no eSIM on those sheets. Test the line in the shop on Safaricom, Airtel, or Telkom 4G.

Unlock on the official pages is face recognition. The official sensor list is accelerometer, proximity, light, and compass, with no fingerprint reader, and GSMArena's 4G sheet agrees. The official LTE spec lists a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band Wi-Fi. FM radio is on the 4G service notes. NFC is not listed. It runs Android 15. Official marketing photos brand some units as nubia and the Hungarian Blade shot as ZTE; in Kenya we sell it as the ZTE A36.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is not 5G. The rear camera is 8MP, not the 13MP on the A56. Storage is 64GB on both cuts we keep. There is no fingerprint reader on the official sheets. Charging on the public 4G sheet is slow. Liquid ratings are not printed on ZTE's official A36 pages.

The ZTE A36 price in Kenya is for the 2GB+64GB and 4GB+64GB 4G units. If you want a Helio G85, a named 15W charger in the box, and a vivo Kenya spec sheet, look at the Y03. If you want a documented 90Hz Blade with more on ZTE's English page, look at the A76.

ZTE A36 Lipa Pole Pole

The 2GB+64GB or 4GB+64GB ZTE A36 cash price is on this page. Under it, two plans: pay a little every day (a small deposit and a daily amount for 12 months), or budget monthly after 50% to 90% down. The tables below are what Nairobi shoppers mean by lipa later and buy now pay later, and what we explain as lipa mdogo mdogo or lipa mos mos at the counter. Nairobi collection can be the same day; we also ship once sign-up is finished.

Questions about the ZTE A36

Is the ZTE A36 a 5G phone in Kenya?

No. ZTE's official Blade A36 page lists 4.5G, which is faster 4G, and the official LTE spec is a 4G handset. It works on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom 4G.

Is the ZTE A36 waterproof?

ZTE's official A36 pages do not print an IP rating. Treat rain and dust as the limit until you see a rating on the box.

Does the ZTE A36 come with a charger?

ZTE has not published an in-box list for Kenya. Ask in the shop to open the box.

What is the battery size of the ZTE A36?

Official Blade and nubia pages show a 5,000mAh typical battery. That is a normal day of calls and WhatsApp, not a two-day cell.

Does the ZTE A36 have a memory card slot?

The official LTE spec lists a microSDXC slot up to 1TB. Confirm the tray on the unit you pick up.

Does the ZTE A36 have a headphone jack?

Yes. The official LTE spec lists a 3.5mm jack. GSMArena's 4G sheet also lists FM radio on this model.

Does the ZTE A36 have a fingerprint sensor?

No. Official pages list face unlock. The official sensor list and GSMArena's 4G sheet do not name a fingerprint reader.

Is the rear camera on the A36 8MP or 13MP?

ZTE's official Blade page and the official LTE spec both write 8MP. Foreign 13MP figures do not match that sheet, so we stay with 8MP.

Is the ZTE A36 good for gaming?

It is fine for light, casual games. The T7200 and 2GB or 4GB of RAM are not a gaming setup, so heavy 3D titles stay on low settings.

ZTE A36 or vivo Y03: which one should I buy?

Take the Y03 if you want the Helio G85, a named 15W charger in the Kenya box, and a vivo spec sheet. Take the A36 if you want the taller 90Hz Blade and Android 15 on 4.5G.

Can I pay for the ZTE A36 in instalments?

Yes. Pick one of the two plans in the tables above: a low deposit and daily payments for 12 months, or 50% to 90% upfront and monthly payments for 1 to 6 months.

What do I need to buy the A36 on a payment plan?

Bring your original Kenyan ID and the deposit. The low-deposit daily plan also needs an active Safaricom line. We do the sign-up with you in the shop or over WhatsApp.

What happens if I miss a payment on the A36?

The phone is locked until you catch up. As soon as you pay what is due, it unlocks and you carry on with your plan.

Can I clear the A36 balance early?

Yes. You can pay off the balance any time, and paying early lowers the total you pay.

Can I get the A36 the same day?

Yes. Once the deposit is paid and the sign-up is done, you can collect it the same day at The Bazaar Plaza in Nairobi CBD, or we deliver it to you anywhere in Kenya.
