Detailed Description of the Tecno Camon 40 Pro

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch Curved 120Hz AMOLED

The screen is a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED at 1080 x 2436, about 393 pixels per inch, running at 120Hz. Tecno Kenya quotes a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio and thin side bezels. WhatsApp, camera preview, and maps look sharper than the HD+ LCD on the Spark 40. The curve helps the grip and looks like a camera phone, but a cheap flat protector will lift at the edges. Foreign Camon 40 Pro 5G reviews talk about 144Hz; that panel is not the Kenya unit on this page.

The glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Tecno talks about a 1.5-metre asphalt drop on that glass, which is a step up from the Panda King sheet on the cheaper Camon 40. Independent brightness figures for this exact Kenya panel vary by review, so leave auto brightness on in Nairobi sun rather than trusting one lab number. Official colours are Galaxy Black, Emerald Lake Green, Glacier White, and Sandy Titanium.

Processor & Storage: Helio G100 Ultimate, 8GB + 256GB

The Kenya Camon 40 Pro uses the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate on 6nm: two Cortex-A76 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, and a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics unit. Tecno Kenya calls it a 4G flagship. Everyday apps, the Sony camera pipeline, and light games stay comfortable. It is the same family of chip as the Camon 40, not a Dimensity 7300. If a YouTube title or an old shop handle says 5G, that is the global Camon 40 Pro 5G. We do not stock that radio.

We stock 8GB of physical RAM with 256GB. Tecno writes this as 16GB with 8GB extended; the real RAM is 8GB. There is no microSD slot on the official Kenya spec card, so 256GB is what you live with. An 11-layer cooling stack and a large vapour chamber sit on the Kenya product page if you game in the sun. Tecno also talks about a six-year fluency certificate. This is still a camera chip, not a GT gaming set.

Camera System: Sony 50MP OIS, 8MP Ultra-wide and 50MP AF Selfie

The main camera is Sony's LYT-700C 50MP sensor, 1/1.56-inch, with optical image stabilisation, dual flash, and a flicker sensor. OIS is why night streets and walking video look cleaner than a Spark. Next to it is a real 8MP ultra-wide with distortion correction for groups. Those are two working rear cameras. Older Zentech titles that mentioned 108MP on this handle were wrong; Tecno Kenya lists 50MP plus 8MP.

The front camera is a 50MP autofocus selfie with about a 91.6-degree view and eye tracking. That is the real step up over the 32MP front on the Camon 40. Rear video on this 4G Pro is not promised at 4K on the public Kenya spec card, so treat 1080p as the safe figure. FlashSnap, AutoSnap, and a one-tap side button sit on the Kenya product page. There is no 3x telephoto here; the Camon 50 Pro is the one with a real 50MP 3x telephoto if zoom portraits are the reason you are spending.

Battery & Charging: 5,200mAh with 45W Super Charge

The Kenyan Camon 40 Pro has a 5,200mAh battery. Tecno quotes more than 1,800 charge cycles and over 80 percent health after five years, plus about 11.5 hours of continuous video in the lab. A Nairobi day of 4G, WhatsApp, and camera use still finishes with charge if you are not gaming the whole afternoon. You do not get a bigger cell than the Camon 40; you are paying for the selfie, the seal, and the glass.

The 45W charger comes in the box. Tecno times 50 percent in 23 minutes and a full charge in 43 minutes on this 5,200mAh 45W pack. Use that brick. There is no wireless pad. The cooling stack helps if you charge and game; a slim Camon will still warm in the sun.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

This is a 4G phone. Tecno Kenya lists 2G, 3G, and 4G only. It talks to Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom on 4G. It does not talk to Safaricom 5G. It takes two nano SIM cards. The public spec card does not list eSIM. You get NFC, an infrared remote, FM radio, USB-C with OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Tecno also talks about a waist antenna that helps Wi-Fi when you hold the phone in landscape.

Dual speakers with Dolby Atmos cover video and music. There is no 3.5mm jack. It ships with Android 15. The official Kenya page lists IP68 and IP69 under SGS lab tests, and says the phones are not professional dive units; liquid damage is outside the warranty. Gorilla Glass 7i and an SGS 5-star drop mark sit on the same page. Ella, call translation, and Circle to Search are in the software.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is not a 5G phone, even if the old web address still says 5G. It is not the cheaper Camon 40 and it is not the Camon 50 Pro. There is no 3x telephoto, no wireless charging, no memory-card slot, and no headphone jack. IP68 and IP69 are lab ratings, not a licence to swim. The ultra-wide is 8MP. The chip is the same Helio G100 Ultimate family as the Camon 40.

The Tecno Camon 40 Pro price in Kenya is for the 8GB+256GB 4G unit we stock. Stay with the Camon 40 if you only need the same 50MP OIS main, will take a 32MP selfie, and want the option of 128GB. If you want a Sony main plus a real 3x telephoto on the later Camon, look at the Camon 50 Pro.

We sell genuine units from The Bazaar Plaza, Moi Avenue, 10th floor, Wing A, Suite 1038, Nairobi. WhatsApp +254 739 238 917. Pickup the same day in Nairobi, or we ship across Kenya.

Tecno Camon 40 Pro Lipa Pole Pole

For the Tecno Camon 40 Pro in 8GB+256GB, cash is the listed price. The two tables below split that balance — daily (a 20% deposit and a daily amount for 6, 9, or 12 months) or monthly after a heavier deposit. The tables below are what Nairobi shoppers mean by lipa later and buy now pay later, and what we explain as lipa mdogo mdogo or lipa mos mos at the counter. You can collect in Nairobi the same day, or we send the phone across Kenya after the deposit.
