Detailed Description of the Tecno Spark 50 Pro

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD

The screen is a 6.78-inch IPS LCD at 720 x 1576, about 259 pixels per inch. WhatsApp and YouTube look clean at normal distance. Small text is softer than on a Camon 50 1.5K AMOLED. The punch-hole sits at the top. Official Tecno copy calls this HD+, not Full HD.

The refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, so scrolling feels smoother than an older 60Hz Spark. It is still LCD: blacks look grey in a dark room, and hard Nairobi sun will wash it more than an AMOLED. Tecno does not publish a nit rating on the spec sheet. The body is about 167.8 x 79.2 x 7.8mm. A screen protector from day one is wise.

Processor & Storage: Helio G100 Ultimate, 4GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB

The chip is the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate on 6nm, with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. That is a clear step up from the Spark 50's Helio G81. Calls, WhatsApp, Chrome, and mid-setting games are the job. Heavy 3D titles still need lower settings. It is 4G only.

We stock 4GB + 128GB and 4GB + 256GB. Tecno markets extended RAM on top of that 4GB; the physical RAM is still 4GB, so apps close sooner than on an 8GB Camon. Take 256GB if this phone is the family camera. The tray has a dedicated microSD slot, so you can keep two SIMs and a card at the same time. Storage is UFS on spec sheets.

Camera System: 50MP Main on a 1/1.95-inch Sensor and 8MP Selfie

The rear camera is a 50MP wide sensor at f/1.8 on a 1/1.95-inch chip with phase-detect focus and a single flash. Daylight shop photos look clean. The extra circles on the island are a flash and helpers, not a second 50MP camera and not an ultra-wide. There is no optical stabilisation. Tecno's own page talks about a 2x2 OCL sensor and FlashSnap in good light.

The front camera is 8MP with a flash for video calls. Night shots go soft unless you hold still. This is a daylight 50MP Spark, not a Camon Sony phone with OIS. Official Kenya-facing tech specs say 50MP plus AI, not a named Sony sensor, so we leave the brand off this page.

Battery & Charging: 6,000mAh with 60W in the Box

Official Tecno copy lists a 6,000mAh battery and 60W Super Charging. Some markets get a 5,600mAh dual-cell version; use 6,000mAh for the phone we sell unless the box says otherwise. Tecno quotes long voice-call, YouTube, and game times on that cell, and talks about bypass charging so gaming while plugged in skips the battery.

An English unboxing of this Pro found the 60W charger, a USB-C cable, and a colour-matched case in the box. Spec sheets quote about 63 percent in 30 minutes and a full fill around 55 minutes. That is the point of the Pro: you give up the Spark 50's 6,700mAh size to get a brick that fills in under an hour instead of overnight.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone. The spec sheet does not list eSIM. You get dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, FM radio, NFC, an infrared remote, USB-C, a side fingerprint reader, and FreeLink 2.0. FlashCall 2.0 is listed for Kenya when both phones and the same carrier support it.

Dual speakers with DTS get loud enough for a small shop. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack; use USB-C or Bluetooth earphones. It ships with Android 16. IP68 and IP69 cover dust, a deep lab soak, and a hot-water jet; Tecno still says do not dunk it on purpose and liquid damage is not covered. SGS drop talk on the product page is about everyday knocks, not a licence to throw it.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is not the Spark 50: that phone keeps a 6,700mAh cell and 18W charging on IP64. This Pro is the 60W, IP68 Spark with a faster chip and 4GB of physical RAM. The screen is HD+ LCD, not AMOLED. Extra camera rings are helpers. It is splash-and-soak rated in the lab, not a diving phone.
