Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.75-inch 90Hz HD+ IPS LCD

The City 100 uses a 6.75-inch IPS LCD at 720 x 1600, running at 90Hz. That is HD+, so chats and Facebook look acceptable but softer than a Full HD itel S series. The 90Hz refresh is smoother than a 60Hz A-series, and slower than the 120Hz City 200. Official brightness is about 700 nits, which is enough for a shaded stall. Midday sun still washes an LCD.

The punch-hole holds the 8MP selfie. The body is about 7.65mm thick, slimmer than the A200. Official colours are Navy Blue, Pure Titanium, and Fairy Purple. There is no Gorilla Glass number on the spec page, so add a glass if the phone lives in a bag with keys.

Processor & Storage: Unisoc T7250, 6GB + 128GB or 4GB + 256GB

The chip is the Unisoc T7250, a 4G set that handles WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, M-Pesa, and light games. It is the same family as the City 200 and the A200. Heavy 3D titles on high settings will heat the phone and drop frames. This is a City for daily apps, not a gaming S Ultra.

We stock two cuts: 6GB+128GB and 4GB+256GB. Take 6GB+128GB if you keep many apps open. Take 4GB+256GB if you keep videos on the phone and can live with less RAM. A microSD slot is on the spec, so you can add a card without losing a SIM on the usual tray. Storage is not UFS; expect eMMC-class speeds.

Camera System: 13MP Rear and 8MP Selfie

The rear camera is a 13MP sensor. In daylight it takes usable shop and family pictures for WhatsApp. It is not the 50MP camera on the City 200, and there is no ultra-wide and no optical stabilisation. Night shots go noisy if you leave the lights off.

The front camera is 8MP, which is enough for a WhatsApp video call in a bright room. Rear video is 1080p-class. Treat any extra decorative opening as design, not a second camera.

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. There is no 5G and no eSIM. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on the spec. There is no NFC. You do get an infrared blaster and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which many newer phones drop.

The rating is IP64, so dust and splashes are in the test. itel also quotes a 1.5-metre drop test. Rain is fine; swimming is not. It ships with Android 14 and itel OS 14.5. The fingerprint reader is in the power button.
