Logitech MeetUp Official 10-Meter Microphone Extension Cable (950-000005)

Product Overview

Unlock the full spatial potential of your Logitech MeetUp all-in-one conference system with this official Logitech MeetUp 10m Mic Extension Cable (Part #950-000005). This specialized cable is engineered by Logitech to easily extend the reach of your MeetUp's external microphone pod, solving one of the most common challenges in medium to large meeting spaces: ensuring crystal-clear audio capture from every participant, no matter where they are seated. The standard microphone cable included with the MeetUp can limit optimal placement. This 10-meter (approximately 33-foot) professional audio extension cable allows you to strategically position the microphone pod at the center of a large conference table, away from the main unit, ensuring balanced sound pickup and eliminating "dead zones." It is an essential video conference accessory for IT managers, AV integrators, and businesses in Kenya who demand professional, reliable hybrid meeting solutions without compromise.

Detailed Product Description

Engineered for Logitech MeetUp System Perfection

The Logitech MeetUp is renowned for its exceptional beamforming microphone array and premium audio quality. To maintain this standard when extending the microphone, using the official accessory is critical. The 950-000005 cable isn't a generic audio cable; it is a digitally compliant, impedance-matched extension specifically designed for the MeetUp's unique connectivity. It features a proprietary locking connector on one end that securely attaches to the MeetUp base unit and a standard RJ45 connector on the other for the microphone pod. This ensures a perfect, secure fit that prevents accidental disconnection during important meetings. Using uncertified or generic Ethernet cables for this purpose can result in intermittent audio, signal loss, or even system errors, as the MeetUp expects a specific handshake and signal integrity that this official cable is guaranteed to provide.

Transforming Conference Room Audio Coverage and Flexibility

The primary function of this extension cable is to decouple the microphone pod's location from the main MeetUp unit. The main unit is typically mounted beneath or near the display for optimal camera sightlines. However, the ideal position for audio capture is often at the acoustic center of the discussion—usually the middle of a conference table. In rooms longer than 4-5 meters, the standard cable is insufficient. This 10m cable provides the necessary extended microphone range to bridge this gap. This allows for superior audio pickup from all participants, ensuring remote attendees hear everyone with equal clarity, reducing the need for people to raise their voices or lean towards a fixed microphone. It effectively expands the "sweet spot" of the MeetUp's audio system, making it suitable for boardrooms, training rooms, and large huddle spaces.

Advanced Shielding and Signal Integrity Technology

Over a 10-meter run, electrical signals are vulnerable to interference from power cables, fluorescent lights, wireless routers, and other electronic devices common in modern offices. A poor-quality cable acts as an antenna, picking up this electromagnetic interference (EMI) and introducing hum, buzz, or static into your audio stream. The Logitech MeetUp extension cable is built with premium, multi-layered shielding—typically a combination of foil and braided metal—that creates a Faraday cage around the internal conductors. This EMI shielding effectively blocks external noise, ensuring that the delicate microphone signal arrives at the base unit completely intact. The result is lossless audio transmission: the audio quality at the pod is identical to the audio quality processed by the MeetUp, with no degradation in frequency response or added noise, maintaining the professional standard of your meetings.

Installation and Deployment for Permanent AV Setups

This cable is designed for both simple temporary setups and permanent, professional installations. For a clean, structured deployment, the cable can be neatly routed along walls, under carpets, through cable conduits, or above ceiling tiles as part of a room's AV infrastructure. Its durable PVC jacket resists wear and tear from pulling through conduits. The connectors are robust and designed for repeated mating cycles, ensuring reliability. The installation process is straightforward: power down the MeetUp system, connect the locking end to the port on the base unit marked for the microphone, route the cable to your desired location, and connect the RJ45 end to the external microphone pod. Once connected, the system automatically recognizes the pod. There is no software to install or settings to adjust, embodying true plug-and-play functionality.

Solving Common MeetUp Audio Challenges in Hybrid Work

In the era of hybrid work, clear audio is non-negotiable. Common complaints in poorly configured rooms include remote participants struggling to hear people at the far end of the table or missing contributions from soft-spoken individuals. These issues directly hinder meeting equity and productivity. This extension cable directly addresses these conference room audio problems. By enabling central microlocal retailerment, it ensures the beamforming technology can work optimally, focusing on human voices around the table rather than privileging those seated closest to the display. It is a simple, single-component upgrade that dramatically improves the meeting experience for both in-room and remote attendees, maximizing the inquiries on investment of your Logitech MeetUp system and supporting inclusive, effective collaboration.

Technical Specifications and Compatibility Assurance

This is the official cable with part number 950-000005. It is a 10-meter (32.8 feet) straight-through cable with a custom locking connector (Logitech-specific) on one end and a standard 8P8C (RJ45) connector on the other. It is designed exclusively for extending the microphone pod of the Logitech MeetUp (Model: 960-001047). It is not a standard Ethernet cable and is not intended for network data transmission. It carries both power and audio data to the external microphone pod. Using it with any other device is not recommended and may not function. For system integrators, keeping this specific part number on hand is essential for any MeetUp deployment in rooms where table-to-display distance exceeds a few meters, ensuring every installation can be optimized for audio performance.
