Detailed Description of the Nothing Phone (4A)

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED, 4,500 Nits

The Nothing Phone (4a) features an extraordinary 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED panel running at 1.5K resolution (1224 × 2720 pixels) with a crisp 440 ppi density and 1.07 billion colors. It supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ streaming. Whether watching 4K YouTube videos or reviewing creative portfolio work, color accuracy and sharpness are exceptional.

Outdoor luminescence is among the brightest in the world: the screen reaches an incredible 4,500 nits peak brightness and 1,600 nits in high-brightness mode. Under the harshest direct midday sunlight in Nairobi, viewing documents, navigation routes, and camera previews is completely effortless. It is shielded by tough Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Processor & Storage: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with Bloat-Free Nothing OS

Powering the device is Qualcomm's modern Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset built on TSMC's power-efficient 4nm process. Its octa-core CPU (four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores at 2.0GHz) paired with an Adreno graphics processor handles fluid daily multitasking, social media curation, and responsive gaming on titles like Call of Duty Mobile.

Available in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB configurations, the software runs Nothing OS 4.1 on Android 16. It offers one of the cleanest software environments on the market—completely free of third-party junk apps, duplicate stores, or intrusive lockscreen advertisements.

Camera System: Dual 50MP OIS Cameras with 3.5x Periscope Zoom

In a category first, the Phone (4a) features a dedicated 50MP 3.5x optical periscope telephoto lens (80mm equivalent) with hardware OIS alongside its primary 50MP wide camera (f/1.9, 1/1.56-inch, OIS). This dual-OIS arrangement allows shooting sharp, optically magnified portrait photographs and concert shots without the distortion or grain of digital cropping. An 8MP ultrawide camera covers landscape and group frames with zero decorative filler lenses.

Video recording reaches 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps with gyro-EIS stabilization. The front 32MP camera captures clean, sharp selfies and handles professional video meetings across Google Meet and Zoom.

Battery & Charging: 5,080mAh Battery with 50W Fast Charging

The 5,080mAh lithium-polymer battery easily delivers all-day stamina. Even with the Glyph lights actively pulsing and continuous 5G data use across Nairobi, users consistently achieve over 7 to 8 hours of screen-on time, or approximately 1.5 days of normal mixed usage.

Charging operates at 50W via USB Power Delivery (PD 3.0 / PPS). A 22-minute quick charge replenishes about 50 percent, while a full recharge takes just 56 minutes. Note that wireless charging is not supported on the 4a series.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Interactive Glyph Bar

The Phone (4a) features dual physical 4G/5G nano-SIM slots compatible with Safaricom and Airtel networks, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 360-degree NFC antenna. Stereo speakers deliver balanced, crisp sound. The device holds an IP64 rating for dust-tight construction and splash resistance.

The rear transparent back houses the iconic Glyph Bar with 6 distinct LED lighting zones. You can assign custom light sequences for essential contacts, view battery charging progress bars, and use the Glyph as a soft fill light for close-up night portraits.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Be aware of its focus: the Nothing Phone (4a) is an aesthetic and photographic mid-ranger, but it lacks wireless charging and is rated IP64 rather than submersible IP68. If you require water submersion protection or higher raw gaming speeds, examine the Poco X8 Pro or Xiaomi 15T.

This is the official Nothing Phone (4a) price in Kenya for buyers who want head-turning transparent design, clean Android, and a genuine periscope zoom camera. Available for outright cash purchase or via structured monthly instalment plans with collection at our Nairobi CBD store.
