Detailed Description of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.9-inch QHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X

The screen is a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 1440 x 3200. That is a large QHD+ panel, so YouTube and maps fill your hand. The refresh rate goes to 120Hz. The sides curve, which looks like an Ultra from that year and makes a cheap glass sit less neatly than a flat phone. There is an always-on display.

Samsung rated peak brightness high for 2020, but it is not a 2024 Ultra. In Kenyan sun you raise the slider and it stays readable if the panel is healthy. Because these are renewed units, look for burn-in on the status bar and keyboard before you pay. The phone is tall and heavy compared with an A-series.

Processor & Storage: Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 Plus, 128GB plus a card

Samsung sold two chips. Many African and European units used the Exynos 990. Some other regions got the Snapdragon 865 Plus. These are renewed, so we read About phone with you. Both chips are 2020 flagship silicon. They still run everyday apps and the 108MP camera. They run warmer than today's phones, and the Exynos units were the ones that heated first in reviews that year.

We stock the 128GB capacity. There is a memory card slot. RAM is typically 12GB. 108MP stills and 8K clips eat space, so plan on a card if you shoot a lot. There is no headphone jack.

Camera System: 108MP Main, 48MP Periscope & 12MP Ultra-wide

The 108MP main (1/1.33-inch class) is the daylight workhorse and bins pixels for a cleaner everyday shot. The 48MP periscope gives true optical zoom around 4x, which is the useful telephoto. Samsung marketed Space Zoom up to 100x. That 100x number is digital crop, not a clean optical lens, so treat it as a novelty. The 12MP ultra-wide is for rooms. A ToF module sits with the deck. The front camera is 40MP.

Early S20 Ultra units were known for hunting focus in low light. These are renewed phones, so try the camera in the shop: tap a face, try 4x, and see whether it locks. Video goes to 8K on the main camera. This is not an S22 Ultra or S24 Ultra camera. Those later phones focus more cleanly and add a built-in S Pen.

Battery & Charging: 5,000mAh and 45W

The battery is 5,000mAh. A mixed day of calls, maps, and camera still covers many people if the cell is healthy. Battery health on a refurbished phone varies, so we show the reading on the unit you pick.

Samsung rated wired charging at 45W, plus wireless charging. A 45W or 25W USB-C charger fills it in about an hour. The original box often shipped without a wall charger, and a renewed pack may or may not include one.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It is a 5G phone. Safaricom 5G works where the network is live, then 4G on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. Most units take two nano SIMs. The tray is often hybrid with the memory card, so check whether you can keep two lines and a card at the same time. Stereo speakers sit at the bottom and in the earpiece. There is no headphone jack.

The phone launched on Android 10. Samsung promised three major upgrades, which took most units to Android 13. Do not buy a 2020 Ultra expecting another big Android version. DeX still works if you plug into a monitor.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. Every S20 Ultra on this page is renewed. Expect marks that match the grade. The 100x zoom is digital. Autofocus can hunt. Software is at the end of major updates. It has no built-in S Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra price in Kenya is the older way into a 108MP Ultra with a periscope. If you want a later 108MP Ultra with a built-in S Pen, look at the S22 Ultra. If you want the same year without the 108MP deck, look at the S20+.

We sell genuine units from The Bazaar Plaza, Moi Avenue, 10th floor, Wing A, Suite 1038, Nairobi. WhatsApp +254 739 238 917. Same-day Nairobi collection for cash. The renewed weekly plan is Nairobi, Nakuru, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos only.
