Detailed Description of the Infinix Hot 70

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch 120Hz HD+ IPS LCD

The screen is a 6.78-inch IPS LCD at 720 × 1576, which works out to about 256 pixels per inch. That is HD+ on a large panel, so small text is a little softer than on a Full HD phone, but WhatsApp, YouTube, and M-Pesa look clean at normal reading distance. The refresh rate steps through 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, so scrolling feels lighter than on older 60Hz Hots.

Infinix rates the panel at 560 nits typical and 700 nits in high-brightness mode, which is enough to read maps and messages at a midday stage, though it will not match a bright AMOLED Note. It is LCD, so blacks look grey in a dark room. You still get Always-On Display and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and the size helps video calls and stall photos outdoors.

Processor & Storage: Helio G100 Ultimate, 4GB/6GB RAM, UFS 2.2

Inside is the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate on a 6nm process, with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G57 graphics unit. Kenya's official spec lists that chip and 4G only. It handles two lines, Chrome, Zoom, and light games such as Mobile Legends or Call of Duty Mobile on mid or low settings. Heavy 3D titles on top settings will drop frames.

We stock 4GB+128GB, 4GB+256GB, and 6GB+256GB, all on UFS 2.2. The official Kenya page lists 6GB and 8GB configurations, while the 4GB phones we sell reload apps sooner when you jump between M-Pesa, WhatsApp, and the camera. Take 256GB if you keep videos and music on the phone. The tray holds two nano SIMs and a microSD card at the same time, so you do not lose a line to add storage.

Camera System: 50MP Main, Helper Lens & 8MP Selfie

All your rear photos come from the 50MP main camera with an f/1.85 lens and autofocus. In daylight it takes sharp shop and family pictures for WhatsApp status. The second opening on the back is a helper lens; it does not take pictures on its own, so think of this as a single-camera phone. There is no optical stabilisation and no ultra-wide sensor.

Night and indoor shots go soft if your hand moves. Rear video reaches 2K at 30fps or 1080p at 30 or 60fps. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with a dual flash, which is fine for video calls in good light. Portrait, Super Night, documents, and dual video modes are built in.

Battery & Charging: 6,000mAh with 45W

The Kenyan Hot 70 has a 6,000mAh battery, which is the reason most people pick this Hot over the smaller 60i. A normal day of calls, WhatsApp, maps, and evening YouTube ends with charge left over, and lighter use can stretch toward a second day. Infinix also lists 10W reverse wired charging and bypass charging so games can run from the charger instead of heating the cell.

Charging is 45W. Infinix quotes about 50 percent in 25 minutes with a matching charger. The Kenya spec does not publish a full-charge time. Plan on a short top-up at lunch or a longer sit at the shop if you start from empty.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone and the Kenya spec sheet does not list eSIM, so plan on physical SIMs. Wi-Fi is dual-band, Bluetooth is 5.4, and NFC is listed as yes on the Kenyan page. You also get an infrared blaster that works as a TV remote and FM radio when data runs out.

Stereo speakers are tuned with DTS. The Kenya spec lists earphones as USB Type-C, not a 3.5mm jack, so wired earphones need a USB-C plug or an adapter. The fingerprint reader sits in the power button on the side. It ships with XOS 16 on Android 16, and Infinix has stated up to three major Android updates for this model.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is rated IP65, so rain, splashes, and dust are fine, but it should not go under water, and Infinix's warranty does not cover liquid damage. The screen is HD+ LCD rather than Full HD AMOLED, night photos have no optical stabilisation, and 4GB RAM reloads apps if you keep many open. It is 4G only, not the Hot 70 Pro 5G.

The Infinix Hot 70 price in Kenya sits in the middle of the Infinix phones we stock: more battery than the Hot 60 series, less screen and chip than a Note. If you want to spend less on calls and WhatsApp, look at the Smart 10. If you want a sharp 1.5K AMOLED and 5G, step up to the Note 60 Pro.
