Detailed Description of the Infinix Note Edge

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz Curved AMOLED

The screen is a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED at 1208 x 2644, which Infinix calls 1.5K. Text, maps, and YouTube look sharper than a regular Full HD Hot. The refresh rate goes up to 120Hz. Some older shop copy still says 144Hz; the Kenya spec for this X6887 is 120Hz.

Infinix rates the panel at about 700 nits typical, 1,600 nits in high-brightness mode, and a 4,500-nit peak flash for short bursts. A lab review of a foreign unit measured about 1,342 nits in auto mode, so Nairobi midday sun is not a problem. Gorilla Glass 7i sits on top. The curve looks clean, but a cheap flat glass can lift, so use a protector that follows the bend.

Processor & Storage: Dimensity 7100 5G, 8GB + 256GB

Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100, a 6nm 5G chip with four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. Calls, WhatsApp, Chrome, and everyday games stay smooth. Heavy 3D titles run better here than on a Helio G100 Hot, though a dedicated GT still wins on frame rate.

We stock 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. That is enough for a large photo library and offline video. There is no memory card slot, so if you fill 256GB you move files off the phone. Some markets also list 128GB; the unit we sell is 8GB + 256GB.

Camera System: 50MP Rear and 13MP Selfie

The back has one real camera: a 50MP main sensor. Daylight shots are clean for status and shop photos. There is no ultra-wide lens and no separate depth camera, and the Kenya spec does not list optical stabilisation, so night photos need a steady hand. Some older listings still say a 32MP selfie; the Kenya page lists 13MP on the front.

Video is fine for WhatsApp and short clips. The 13MP selfie is usable for video calls and portraits in good light, and it goes softer after dark. If you want a wider group shot or a stabilised night photo, the Note 60 Pro we stock has an ultra-wide and OIS.

Battery & Charging: 6,150mAh Kenya Pack with 45W

The Kenyan Note Edge has a 6,150mAh battery. Some other countries get a 6,500mAh version, which is why foreign reviews quote the bigger number. On the Kenyan pack, a busy day of calls, maps, and hotspot still leaves charge in the evening.

The 45W charger comes in the box. A review of the 6,500mAh export unit filled in about one hour and 14 minutes; the Kenyan 6,150mAh pack should sit in the same neighbourhood. That is slower than the 90W Note 60 Pro, but you are not waiting two hours either.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards. 5G works on Safaricom wherever their 5G is live, and it falls back to 4G on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom everywhere else. The Kenya spec sheet does not list eSIM, so plan on physical SIM cards.

It runs Android 16 with XOS 16. Infinix promises three major Android updates and five years of security updates. The stereo speakers are tuned by JBL. You also get FM radio, NFC, and an infrared blaster that works as a TV remote. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is rated IP65, so rain, splashes, and dust are fine, but it should not go under water, and Infinix's warranty does not cover liquid damage. There is no memory card slot, no headphone jack, no ultra-wide camera, and only one real rear sensor.

The Infinix Note Edge price in Kenya sits between a Hot and the Snapdragon Note. If you want a faster chip, 90W charging, and a 6,000mAh pack with wireless charging, step up to the Note 60 Pro. If you want a simpler 4G phone for less, look at the Hot 70.
