Detailed Description of the itel S25

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED

The screen is a 6.78-inch Super Bright AMOLED at 1080 x 2436, about 393 pixels per inch, running at 120Hz. That is Full HD+, so chats, status photos, and YouTube look sharper than the HD+ LCDs on a Pop or a first Smart. Colours and blacks are the reason people pick this itel over a cheaper LCD phone. The punch-hole sits in the top corner and the glass is flat, which makes a standard protector easy to fit.

Independent spec sheets rate the panel at about 1,200 nits in high-brightness mode and up to 1,800 nits peak, so maps stay readable at a midday stage better than older itel LCDs. The official itel page calls it Super Bright AMOLED. The body is 7.3mm thick and about 185 grams, which is thicker and heavier than the S25 Ultra's 6.9mm, 163-gram curved phone.

Processor & Storage: Unisoc T620, 6GB + 128GB

Inside is the Unisoc T620 on a 12nm process, with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores. It handles WhatsApp, TikTok, M-Pesa, YouTube, Chrome, and light games. Heavy 3D titles need low settings, and it will not match a Helio G100 or a newer Snapdragon in long sessions. The same chip sits in the Ultra; the extra money there is not for raw speed.

We stock 6GB of physical RAM with 128GB of storage. itel also writes this as 12GB with 6GB extended; the useful number is 6GB. 128GB is enough for photos and a few offline videos if you clear WhatsApp often. The official spec sheet does not list a dedicated memory-card slot, so do not count on adding a card without checking the tray in the shop.

Camera System: 50MP Main, Helper Lens and 32MP Selfie

The rear camera is one real 50MP sensor with an f/1.6 lens and autofocus, plus a ring flash around the island. Daylight shop photos and family pictures look clean enough for WhatsApp. The extra opening is a helper lens; it does not take pictures on its own. There is no ultra-wide and no optical stabilisation.

Video on the rear and front reaches 1440p at 30fps, which itel also calls 2K, or 1080p at 30fps. The 32MP front camera is the stronger selfie in this price class and is much better than the 8MP fronts on many budget phones. Night shots from the main camera need a steady hand. Super Night, portrait, HDR, and panorama modes are built in.

Battery & Charging: 5,000mAh with 18W USB-C

The Kenyan S25 has a 5,000mAh battery. That matches itel's official sheet and is the same size listed worldwide for this model, so you should not see a different milliamp figure in foreign reviews. A normal day of 4G, WhatsApp, and some video usually ends with charge left. itel also lists bypass charging, which can keep the battery cooler if you play while plugged in.

Official charging is 18W over USB-C, sold as PowerCharge. A 5,000mAh cell at 18W typically wants well over an hour and a half from empty, so most people charge overnight. We will show you what is in the Kenya box before you leave. If you want a brick that fills in half an hour, look at a Tecno or Infinix with 45W, not this itel.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone and there is no eSIM. You get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-C, an infrared remote, and an under-display fingerprint reader. NFC is listed as market-dependent on public sheets, so ask us to check the unit if tap-to-pay matters.

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which the slimmer Ultra does not keep. It ships with Android 14 and itel OS 14.5. itel promises up to two major Android upgrades. The rating is IP54: dust and light splashes are fine, swimming is not, and liquid damage is not something to assume is covered.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is not the S25 Ultra: that phone is thinner, uses Gorilla Glass 7i, and we stock it with 8GB+256GB. This S25 is IP54, not a swimming phone, charging is 18W, night photos have no optical stabilisation, and it is 4G only. The official sheet does not promise a memory-card slot.

The itel S25 price in Kenya sits under the Ultra and next to other 6GB+128GB Androids. If you want to spend less on calls and WhatsApp, look at the Smart 10. If you want the thinner curved Ultra with more storage, step up to the S25 Ultra.

Questions about the itel S25

Is the itel S25 waterproof?

No. It is rated IP54, which means it handles dust and light splashes, but it should not go under water. Do not treat rain as a swimming test.

What is the battery size of the itel S25 in Kenya?

The Kenyan S25 has a 5,000mAh battery. That is the figure on itel's official spec page and it matches the worldwide sheet for this model.

Does the itel S25 come with a charger?

Official charging is 18W over USB-C, sold as PowerCharge. We will open the Kenya box with you so you can see the cable and whether the 18W brick is inside.

How fast does the itel S25 charge?

At 18W a 5,000mAh cell typically wants well over an hour and a half from empty. Most people charge it overnight rather than waiting at a stall.

Does the itel S25 support 5G or NFC?

It is a 4G phone for Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom, with no eSIM. NFC is listed as market-dependent, so ask us to check the unit if you need tap-to-pay.

Does the itel S25 have a memory card slot and a headphone jack?

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The official spec sheet does not list a dedicated card slot, so check the tray in the shop before you count on a microSD card.

Is the itel S25 good for gaming?

It is fine for light games and mid settings. Heavy 3D titles need low settings. The Unisoc T620 is a daily-use chip, not a gaming flagship.

itel S25 or S25 Ultra: which should I buy?

Take the Ultra if you want a thinner 6.9mm body, Gorilla Glass 7i, and 8GB+256GB. Take this S25 if you want to spend less and keep the headphone jack.

Does the itel S25 have an AMOLED screen?

Yes. The official itel page lists a Super Bright AMOLED, and independent sheets put it at 6.78 inches, 120Hz, and Full HD+. That is the same panel type as the Ultra, on a thicker body.

What Android version does the itel S25 ship with?

It comes with Android 14 and itel OS 14.5. itel promises up to two major Android upgrades.

Can I pay for the itel S25 in instalments?

Yes. Pick one of the two plans in the tables above: a low deposit and daily payments for 12 months, or 50% to 90% upfront and monthly payments for 1 to 6 months.

What do I need to buy the S25 on a payment plan?

Bring your original Kenyan ID and the deposit. The low-deposit daily plan also needs an active Safaricom line. We do the sign-up with you in the shop or over WhatsApp.

What happens if I miss a payment on the S25?

The phone is locked until you catch up. As soon as you pay what is due, it unlocks and you carry on with your plan.

Can I clear the S25 balance early?

Yes. You can pay off the balance any time, and paying early lowers the total you pay.

Can I get the S25 the same day?

Yes. Once the deposit is paid and the sign-up is done, you can collect it the same day at The Bazaar Plaza in Nairobi CBD, or we deliver it to you anywhere in Kenya.
