Detailed Description of the OPPO A5 Pro

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.67-inch 90Hz HD+ LCD

The Kenyan A5 Pro uses a 6.67-inch LCD at 720 x 1604, about 264 pixels per inch. That is HD+, not Full HD, so small text is a little softer than on a pricier Reno, but WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube look clean at normal reading distance. The refresh rate goes up to 90Hz. If a foreign A5 Pro 5G review quotes 120Hz or Full HD, that is a different radio version, not the CPH2711 we stock.

OPPO Kenya rates the panel at 1,000 nits typical in sunlight, so maps and M-Pesa stay readable when you are standing outside at midday. Cover glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i or AGC DT-Star D+. The glass is flat, which makes a standard protector easy to fit. Blacks are grey compared with an AMOLED Reno, and that is the main screen trade-off. Mocha Brown is about 7.76mm and 194 grams; Olive Green is about 7.86mm and 195 grams.

Processor & Storage: Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1, 8GB + 256GB

Inside the Kenyan A5 Pro is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 with an Adreno 610 graphics unit, on an 11nm process. It is a 4G chip. It handles calls, WhatsApp, M-Pesa, Facebook, YouTube, and light games without drama. Heavy 3D titles have to run on low or medium settings. This is the same generation of chip as the plain A5; the Pro money is for the tougher body and the larger selfie, not for a faster processor.

We stock 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. UFS is quicker than the eMMC you still find on cheaper A-series phones. 256GB is the one to take if this is the family phone and the camera roll plus WhatsApp video will grow. OPPO Kenya lists a memory card slot and USB OTG, so you can add space or plug in a flash drive.

Camera System: 50MP Main, 2MP Monochrome Helper & 8MP Selfie

All your rear photos come from the 50MP wide camera with an f/1.8 lens, autofocus, and a 76-degree field of view. In daylight it takes sharp pictures for WhatsApp status and Facebook. The second lens is a 2MP monochrome helper at f/2.4; it does not take pictures on its own, so think of this as a one-camera phone with a helper. There is no ultra-wide lens. The official Kenya sheet does not list optical stabilisation.

Rear video is 1080p at 30fps, with 720p slow motion at 120fps and dual-view at 720p. Night mode brightens streets and shops, but you need a steady hand. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with a screen fill light, which is a step up from the 5MP selfie on the plain A5 and is fine for video calls.

Battery & Charging: 5,800mAh with 45W in the Box

The Kenyan A5 Pro has a 5,800mAh typical battery (5,640mAh rated). That is the figure on OPPO Kenya's spec page for CPH2711, so treat older 5,000mAh titles as out of date. A normal day of calls, WhatsApp, maps, and YouTube ends with charge left over. OPPO says the cell should hold over 80 percent of a new battery after more than four years; treat that as a durability claim, not a measured shop test.

The 45W SUPERVOOC charger, USB-C cable, and a protective case come in the Kenya box. Official Kenya copy does not publish a minute figure for this 4G unit, so we leave the fill time off this page. Use the brick in the box, not a random slow cube, if you want the full 45W. The phone also speaks PD and older VOOC protocols.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone and OPPO Kenya does not list eSIM, so plan on physical SIMs. The LTE bands on the Kenya sheet include 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, and 28 plus TDD 38, 40, and 41. Wi-Fi is dual-band 802.11ac and Bluetooth is 5.0. Earphones use the USB-C port; there is no 3.5mm jack.

The fingerprint reader sits in the power button on the side. It runs ColorOS 15. OPPO Kenya's spec sheet does not list NFC, so do not buy it expecting tap-to-pay without asking us to check the unit. IP69, IP68, and IP66 mean rain, dust, immersion in the lab, and even a hot-water jet test; liquid damage is still not covered by the warranty. OPPO also quotes MIL-STD-810H shock testing.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is not the plain A5: that phone keeps a 3.5mm jack and a 6,000mAh cell, with a lower splash rating. This Pro is the water-rated 4G A-series with an 8MP selfie and USB-C audio. The screen is HD+ LCD, the chip is 4G only, and night photos have no optical stabilisation on the Kenya sheet. IP69 is a lab rating, not a licence to swim every weekend.

The OPPO A5 Pro price in Kenya sits above the plain A5 and below a Reno. If you want to spend less and keep a headphone jack, look at the A5. If you want a sharper AMOLED and a stronger camera, step up to the Reno 13F.
