Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards on a hybrid tray and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. The official Africa spec lists LTE only: 2G, 3G, and 4G. It is not a 5G phone, and the Kenya sheet does not list eSIM, so plan on physical SIM cards. Wi-Fi is dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth is 5.3, and NFC is listed as yes, so tap-to-pay apps that work on Samsung in Kenya can use it.

There is no 3.5mm headphone jack; earphones go in USB-C or you use Bluetooth. The official sheet marks stereo support as no, so this is a single speaker, loud enough for a call or a clip but not a party speaker. The fingerprint reader sits in the side button. Know what it is not. It is the 4G Galaxy A17, not the A17 5G. It is rated IP54, so rain and splashes are fine, but it should not go under water, and Samsung does not advise beach or pool use. There is no headphone jack, video stops at 1080p, the speaker is not stereo, and the Helio G99 is a mid-range 4G chip, not a gaming flagship.
