Detailed Description of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.7-inch 60Hz Super AMOLED

The screen is a flat 6.7-inch Super AMOLED at 1080 x 2400. That is Full HD+, not the QHD panel on the Note 20 Ultra, so small text is a little softer, but WhatsApp, maps, and YouTube look clean. The refresh rate is 60Hz. It does not jump to 120Hz, which is the main thing you feel when you come from a newer Samsung.

Samsung rated typical brightness high enough for indoor use, and the Super AMOLED stays readable in Kenyan sun if you raise the slider. The front glass is Gorilla Glass 5. There is an always-on display for the clock and notifications. Because these are renewed units, look for burn-in on the status bar and keyboard before you pay.

Processor & Storage: Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865+, 128GB or 256GB

Samsung sold two chips. Many African and European units used the Exynos 990. Some other regions got the Snapdragon 865 Plus. These are renewed phones, so open Settings, About phone, and read the processor line with us. Both chips are 2020 flagship silicon: they still run WhatsApp, Chrome, and the camera, but they run warmer than today's mid-range phones and they are six years old.

We stock 128GB and 256GB. There is no memory card slot, so pick the storage you will live with. RAM is typically 8GB. If you keep a large WhatsApp folder or shoot a lot of 4K, take 256GB. The weekly plan on this page is listed for the 128GB Excellent grade; ask us on WhatsApp if you want the 256GB on the same renewed plan.

Camera System: 12MP Main, 64MP 3x Zoom & 12MP Ultra-wide

The rear cameras are three real sensors. The 12MP main with optical stabilisation is the everyday lens. The 64MP telephoto gives 3x optical zoom, which is the useful one for a face across a table or a shop sign. The 12MP ultra-wide is for rooms and groups. The front camera is 10MP.

Video goes to 8K on the main camera and 4K on the others. Night shots need a steady hand. The S Pen lives in a silo in the body. Use it to write a note, mark a photo, or start the camera. Confirm the pen is in the phone and that it writes on the screen before you leave.

Battery & Charging: 4,300mAh and 25W

The battery is 4,300mAh. That is smaller than today's 5,000mAh phones, so a heavy camera day may need a top-up. Battery health on a refurbished phone varies, so ask us to show the health reading on the unit you pick.

Samsung rated wired charging at 25W, plus wireless charging. A 25W USB-C charger fills it in a bit over an hour. The original retail box often shipped without a wall charger, and a renewed pack may or may not include one, so bring a charger you already own.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It is a 5G phone. Safaricom 5G works where the network is live, and it falls back to 4G on Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. Most units take two nano SIM cards. Because these are renewed, check the tray before you leave. There is no headphone jack. Stereo speakers sit at the bottom and in the earpiece.

The phone launched on Android 10 with One UI 2.5. Samsung promised three major Android upgrades, which took most units to Android 13, plus security patches for a set period. Do not buy a 2020 Note expecting another big Android version. DeX still works if you want a desktop-style screen on a monitor.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. Every Note 20 on this page is renewed, not a sealed 2026 carton. Expect light marks that match the grade. The screen is 60Hz, the battery is 4,300mAh, and software support is at the end of the road. It is not the Note 20 Ultra: that one has a 6.9-inch 120Hz screen and a 108MP camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 price in Kenya is the cheaper way into a Samsung S Pen. If you want the bigger screen, 120Hz, and 108MP, look at the Note 20 Ultra. If you want a newer renewed Ultra with a built-in S Pen, look at the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
