Detailed Description of the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+

Display & Outdoor Visibility: 6.78-inch Curved 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED

The screen is a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED at 1224 x 2720, which Tecno calls 1.5K, running at up to 144Hz. WhatsApp, TikTok, and camera preview look sharper and smoother than the HD+ LCD on the Spark 40. Tecno's Kenya page says the 1.5K figure is upscaled by a T1 chip and the GPU's native output is 1080p, so Geekbench and some apps still report Full HD. In the hand it still looks like a Pro screen, not a first-phone LCD.

Tecno rates about 1,600 nits in high-brightness mode and up to 4,500 nits peak, with 2160Hz sampling and an SGS low-blue-light hardware mark. Maps stay readable at a midday stage if auto brightness is on. The curve looks slim and sits well, but a cheap flat protector will halo at the edges; the inbox case is the one Tecno designed for the 30W magnetic pad. The glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone is 6.49mm thick and about 160 grams on the Kenya page, thinner than the Spark 40 Pro.

Processor & Storage: Helio G200, 8GB + 128GB or 256GB

Inside is the MediaTek Helio G200 on TSMC 6nm, with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics unit at 1.1GHz. Tecno calls this the first phone on that chip. Everyday apps, camera processing, and PUBG around 60fps on mid settings stay comfortable. It is still a 4G chip, not a Dimensity 5G set, and the jump from the Spark 40 Pro's Helio G100 Ultimate is about a tenth, not a new class.

We stock 8GB of physical RAM with 128GB or 256GB. Tecno writes this as 16GB with 8GB extended; the real RAM is 8GB, which is the useful number when you keep WhatsApp, Chrome, and the camera open. Take 256GB if you keep 50MP photos and offline video. There is no microSD slot on the Pro+, which is the trade for the slim body and the wireless coil. The Spark 40 Pro still has a card slot if that matters more than wireless charging.

Camera System: 50MP EIS Main and 13MP Dual-Flash Selfie

The rear camera is a 50MP main sensor with electronic image stabilisation and a dual-LED flash. Daylight shop photos and family pictures look clean enough for WhatsApp. Tecno talks about an AI RAW-domain algorithm for backlight and night. The extra opening on the island is a helper, not a second 50MP camera and not an ultra-wide. There is no optical stabilisation; EIS helps walking video, but a Camon with OIS still wins at night.

Video on the rear is listed at 1440p or 1080p. The 13MP front camera has dual flash, which is a step up from the 8MP selfie on the Spark 40. Night shots need a steady hand. FlashSnap and BestMoment sit in the camera app if you shoot moving children. This is a good daylight Spark camera, not a Camon Sony LYT-700C setup.

Battery & Charging: 5,200mAh with 45W and 30W Wireless

The Kenyan Spark 40 Pro+ has a 5,200mAh battery. Tecno says the cell is built for more than 2,000 charge cycles and should keep over 80 percent of its capacity after five years. A work day of 4G, WhatsApp, and some video leaves charge in the evening. It is smaller than the Spark 50's 6,700mAh cell. Slim phones with wireless coils often finish a heavy day earlier than the milliamp figure suggests, so charge at the stall if you game on 4G all afternoon.

The 45W Super Charging brick comes in the box. Tecno quotes about 55 minutes from empty to full on the wire. You also get 30W magnetic wireless charging with the inbox case, 5W reverse wireless for earbuds, 10W reverse wired, and bypass charging. An English review of this model timed a wired fill closer to an hour ten on the 45W brick, so treat 55 minutes as the lab figure. The Spark 40 Pro has 45W only and no wireless pad.

Kenyan Network Connectivity, Audio & Software

It takes two nano SIM cards and works on 4G with Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. It is not a 5G phone and the Kenya page does not list eSIM. Tecno Kenya lists multifunctional NFC, an infrared remote, FM radio, USB-C with OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The fingerprint reader sits on the side. Super Wi-Fi 2.0 and a second Wi-Fi antenna are the gaming-signal talking points on the Kenya page.

Dual speakers with Dolby Atmos are louder than a single-speaker Pop. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack; use USB-C or Bluetooth earphones. That jack still lives on the Spark 40 Pro. It ships with Android 15. Tecno advertises a five-year fluency guarantee. A long, numbered Android-upgrade count is not spelled out the way it is on the Camon 50 Pro, so ask us if software years are the reason you are buying. The rating is IP64, with a 2-metre drop claim when you keep the inbox case on.

Buyer Guidance: What It Is Not & Alternatives

Know what it is not. It is rated IP64, so rain and dust are fine, but it should not go under water. There is no memory-card slot, no headphone jack, and no optical stabilisation. The second rear lens is a helper. The Helio G200 is 4G only. Wireless charging needs the inbox case for the magnetic pad.

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ price in Kenya sits above the Spark 40 Pro because you are paying for the G200, the curve, and 30W wireless charging. Stay with the Spark 40 Pro if you want a card slot and a headphone jack. If you want a much bigger battery and to spend less, look at the Spark 50.
